I firmly believe it is everyone's patriotic duty to vote UKIP at every opportunity until we get a UKIP government which will liberate us from this imposition called the EU. There is no other credible way; we certainly cannot trust anyone currently in Westminster. Why is this necessary? Because not only is the EU holding us back, taking our money and giving us nothing in return, it is destroying our personal liberty and our best traditions, it is destroying our democracy, we can no longer throw our rulers out because they are unelected, in Brussels, and we have less than 12% of any EU vote and are only one of 27+ members/victims...and worse, it acts always without asking us first! If it behaves damagingly, with hostility and selfish indifference, if it comes from outside unbidden by the majority and behaves against local interests, then what's the difference between that, the EU, and an invading enemy? The EU's anti-democratic, totalitarian suffocation must be stopped and removed...and dumped in the dustbin of history where it belongs. It's an idea whose short time in the spotlight came and went over 60 years ago. It is a monstrous overhang from another era of BIG government and the powerless person. Defeat it with votes! Then, if you want to, you can vote for anyone you like the sound of...provided the EU and such like are kept out of our independent democracy, so it survives. I trust the people, let them vote and they will vote to keep the vote, and the power that goes with it...keep the vote here where they can keep a proper eye on it. nc30July12

Freedom (and Responsibility) of the individual is central to UKIP's values - it's also a fundamental British value, along with a sense of community responsibility and treating everybody fairly, because Everybody Matters. Also, fundamentally UKIP! If you seek to replace these UKIP attitudes with class prejudice, and favouritism for the better off, then you surely are in the wrong party; you must be a Tory - a party that is dying on its feet because of those same patrician, nasty attitudes. We want to see each person given a 'fair-go' on a level playing field, and to keep most of the money they earn for their family and future, but also contribute through taxes and volunteering to the society they live in and are part of. 'Libertarian nonsense' is there none. The problem with labels is they mean different things to different people: Liberty means empowering the individual and treating them like adults in Law and protecting each person from harm from wherever it comes, whether crime or disease or government interference. Freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, assembly etc are not 'nonsense'. A person knows best how to run their own life or which advice to heed...and who to vote for...that person has to live with the choices made so it's best they make the choices in their own life. If that's 'Libertarian nonsense', then I do not recognise the term at all. British people have been fighting for freedom for centuries, we know it when we see it and we know the opposite too...and we will not tolerate that opposite for long, none of us. So personal Freedom it is, even if you call it 'Libertarian nonsense'...better that than totalitarian nonsense. UKIP will succeed, is already doubling and doubling again and doubling again its support, because it is fighting for Liberty and the best of British traditions. nc30July12

The problems you describe we have faced and driven through, despite a hostile media and dreadful mud-slinging from opponents - and still increased our support dramatically - as we were organising and setting up branches all round the country - the problems of rapid admin expansion...and still we increase support! Now the cat is out of the bag, in recent days: Dave and Ed have come clean and joined Nick firmly on the PRO-EU side of the argument - so foolish! Arrogantly ignoring and disrespecting the people, daft! - because the British people are settled in their determination to get the EU off our backs! They like Jury trial, habeas corpus, and other important British freedoms and traditions. The total failure of the eurozone has put more nails in the EU coffin. The sooner we break free from EU control and rejoin the world as an independent country again, the better for us all. Now we know, UKIP is the only answer, and will go from strength to strength...because we are nice, common-sense, ordinary people...and despite the nasty party scorn and dirty tricks the Tories keep throwing at us so uselessly! Counter-productively! So out of touch! Voters know Tories by now and the nastier you are the more they hate you. I am shocked sometimes by how aggrieved so many people are by Tory betrayals. I heard Cameron's 'cast-iron guarantee' described on the radio recently as 'an electoral ploy'. I've heard it described in much more earthy language than that! Well-dressed, respectable gentleman, livid! With real, shaking fists, shaking body, repressed anger behind it - this is real bitterness, life-changing bitterness. Many Tory voters feel they've been made fools of, treated like chumps for their loyalty. Cameron just doesn't appreciate just how strongly former Conservative voters feel about this. There is no mea culpa, no regretful retreat, no sackings, no contrition, just haughty arrogance: "I don't think...I don't want... I, I, I know better than you!" said David, talking down to us as children. Many in his audience have risked or dedicated their lives for this country and its traditions and expect to be heard, democratically. 'Who is this whipper-snapper, to tell ME to shut up and put up!' they say. Even the young are outraged at this high-handed conspiracy against the voters. No safe Tory seat is safe. Big names will fall. It is too late for the Tories, they are totally doomed; they have trashed their bedrock and to top that they have failed to achieve their targets. The country has been drifting, rudderless - no growth, shrinking - borrowing more, overspending. The Westminster Tories need to be smashed, a total clear out of all the fakes, what I call 'The Smarm', with their ready-made pat responses that no-one believes or respects. The remainder will only survive by taking on UKIP vestments, or abandoning the Tory rump for other parties. Why am I so sure? I have met untold numbers of good, decent people who have had enough of both old parties and tribal politics...our country has been hopping on one leg then hopping on the other for too long for no purpose. All voters are treated with respect and consideration as customers and citizens in their daily lives...except when it comes to politics when they are fobbed off with half-baked, self-serving excuses by pompous cheats who fiddled their expenses, made a mess of running the country and refuse to listen to them. No wonder they are quietly "determined never to vote for those 'king charlatans again!" And they come to straight-talking UKIP and it feels like home. I did the same. nc30July12

From UKIP's point of view, there is little difference between a disastrous EU controlled labour administration doing Rompuy's bidding in Downing Street or a disastrous EU controlled libcon administration doing Barruso's bidding in Downing Street; all of them would have to impose the pasty tax and the caravan tax to standardise themselves with EU requirements, obey the Working Time Directive and so on and on...it really doesn't matter much who is in number 11 when the EU Financial Transactions Tax is imposed on us, it will still seriously damage our most important business, the City of London - indeed, as it is designed to do, to help Frankfurt and Paris. So I will weep no tears for losing any of the three quisling vichy haw-haw parties who work for that alien power now in charge. Let them all fall apart; none of them serve us well. We, the UK, cannot succeed until we throw the whole EU edifice off our backs and rejoin the free world. If that means we have to wait awhile until tribal class politics is finally rubbed out, then so be it. It's a big mistake to think that UKIP is Tory-not-lite; it's more fundamental than that: we embrace the best British traditions that strengthen the individual, every individual...no matter what 'class', 'race', religion or economic circumstance... if someone is legally British, then that person's opportunities and safety is the concern of the UK government and that person can participate in the choice of who governs British people. And the same for other countries, ideally. To the extent that policy and practice serve that over-riding purpose, the dominion over self and optimum standards for each and every one of us in unity and community, then this is the fundamental motivation of UKIP's policy choices: what will serve each of us well, a comfortable community that encourages individual freedom, responsibility and enterprise. It is not about lawless, wild west empty spaces or claustrophobic concrete jungles where only the tough survive...no, these are the images our opponents create to scare people. It is far more boring than that! In a very British way, it's about getting the balance right so that the most important thing is centre stage...US, you and me, we humans, Humanity! ...and nothing else gets in the way. You'll know what I mean immediately when I ask you, 'What is clogging up the works, getting in the way, blocking opportunities, looming too large, etc?' Yes, institutions, systems, procedures!... from National Governments to local governments, from Corporations to High Streets, its the institutions that get to decide the rules, choose how to treat us. We, the little people, don't get a look-in! We stand there in front of the noticeboard, or at the counter, reading the rules that are clearly designed for the ease and benefit of someone else, not us. Unless...they are customer-focused...because they need our money, or they need our support, or they are ethically driven to serve. Look through UKIPs policies and you will see a theme, a strong foundation: each innocent person first. It's right, it's the future, and it's an election-winning strategy! But it's not just a strategy, it's what UKIP members and British people believe in, and will fight for until we win and keep on winning. The problem with the EU parties, liblabcon, is that they don't believe in US, you and me, any more! No, they've surrendered to defeatism, surrendered to failure, surrendered to the European Union! We will never remain a province in any European Empire so tear it down and take it away. We will do things our way, thanks, but no thanks, to you, Herman! ...and the rest of you! evening dresses for teens
